MORSELS OF INSPIRATION
Kelly Wearstler's latest commercial project with the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica, CA is a monumental design achievement that has inspired so many, including myself. She restored the vintage architectural elements capturing the beauty of it's landmark legacy and complimented those with newer age modern contemporary design elements. These indoor outdoor, new old, high low, soft hard pairings work seamlessly together to create perfect harmony. I love capturing juxtaposition in design.
Fashion has forever been a huge source of inspiration for me. It's a form of creative expression that allows you to be whoever you desire to be. Regardless of your background, be it socio-economic, cultural, social, etc. Having dedicated many years of my career to fashion in some capacity, it comes as no surprise that it remains so near and dear to me. What I love about design is that creativity has no limitations. In fact, many fashion designers have transitioned to become interior designers or architects and vice versa. Design is a universal language. Ethosens, does an incredible job of designing beautiful product silhouettes through incredible craftsmanship. Since nature is another source of inspiration for me my appreciation for organic, earthy textures and tones makes total sense.
Art -
Chitecture
Architecture is the intersection of science and creativity with a mathematical approach. I've always been drawn to 3D art, hence my affinity for well- designed architecture. I'm grateful that my life has allowed an extensive amount of travel where I get to witness cultural creativity come to life. For example, Hotel Charlie in Medellín, Colombía where I stayed during my last visit there. I adore how the architect created so much texture in the woven design of the indoor / outdoor facade.
